“The call of ambition is strong and we must try to act upon it, lest we spend a lifetime regretting what we didn’t do. As a wise man once said, ‘People cannot discover new oceans unless they have the courage to lose sight of the shore.’”

It was with excitement, jitters and much glee that that we tossed our lines and indeed lost site of the shore! My mate, Philip and I retired this year from our 30+ years as critical care nurses. In an effort to organize our new life plan we decided to spend some time away from home base and cruise around on our sailboat, Evergreen. So, what's new about that you say? Well, true we have spent many summers aboard Evergreen cruising around, but the difference now is that we're free! We no longer have to hustle around in order to get back to the workplace on time. It is an interesting, albeit a little scary feeling to be so free, but as the above meditation suggests we really don't want to have the regrets of not doing something that we yearned for when it's time to pass on...
So, in an effort to keep you all up to date and with us, we invite you to follow along here as we cruise along in Evergreen and we hope you stay with and enjoy learning with us, as we learn about the world we live in through our eyes; the eyes of adventurous sailors!
I will post pictures and tell stories whenever I have time and good internet, so stay tuned!
