It's been a long time since I made a post and I heartily apologize to my followers. It has been a hectic couple of months. We returned to Maine after our long summer adventures and had to get our boat ready for winter storage, pack, make the long trek back to our home in Florida, unpack, and get ourselves reorganized at our work place for the Winter season. Phew!!! Now that I am settling into a calmer routine and I can finally catch my breath, I intend to get back to the business of Tarot.
December is here and for many of us it is a time of reckoning. We review our year past, (can you believe 2013 is almost gone?), think about what we did right, contemplate what we might do better, and gather with friends and family to give thanks for what we have and send good wishes for the new year.
On December 21st is Yule - the Winter Solstice - a very significant time for the ancient, northern peoples as it was the longest and darkest night of the year. Long and dark - that could conjure up some negative feelings if we allowed it to. If, perhaps ,we are spending this night alone, we might begin to think unhappy thoughts, feel closed in by the long, cold, dark, lonely night. Perhaps we would think about all of the things that confuse us or make us sad. We might feel pressed to make a decision, but not know what to do or which way to go. Perhaps we are deluded about something that we think we want, but might not be in our best interest long term.
This is the message of the 7 of Cups. In the realms of your imagination anything is possible, but it is up to you to decide what is really doable and what might be just an expression of fanciful imagination. One should always weigh the imagined against the practical. So, get a clear view of what needs to be done in order to set some realistic goals based on those dreams. Set deadlines and work towards them. That way the longest night could also be the most productive night! When you've got your mind settled make sure you write down those wishes and goals on some scrap paper, light that Yule Log, and throw the paper on the fire, so the Universe can help you make your dreams come true (but don't forget to keep a copy for yourself). Remember, you think and the Universe creates!
I send many Bright Blessings your way for Yule and the year to come!
